Obituary for Joyce Richeson

Joyce Ilene Richeson, age 68 of Boone, died on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. Joyce has been cremated and a Celebration of her Life, will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., at the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel, at Sixth and Marshall. Burial of her cremains will be in the Boone Memorial Gardens at a later date.

Joyce Ilene (Hickman) Richeson, was born September 26, 1948, the daughter of John W. and Maxine (Fairchild) Hickman. She graduated from Boone High School in 1966 and graduated from Boone Junior College in 1968. She worked part-time at the former Safeway Grocery Store in Boone. Joyce soon moved to Maryville, MO and graduated from Northwest Missouri State with a degree in education. She taught for several years in Missouri. Joyce was married to Lynn Perry Richeson from Boone, Iowa in August of 1970. The couple moved to Indiana and they worked for Butler Paper Company and later transferred to Colorado. After her divorce from Lynn, she moved back to Boone, where she lived with her mother for a short time. Joyce married John Sieve from Boone and they later divorced.

Joyce’s greatest joy in her life was her son, Jason, and her three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maxine and John W. Hickman, her cousin, Rick Craven, and her ex-husband, Lynn Richeson. She is survived by her sister, Jackie Schmidt and her husband Larry, three grandchildren; Tyler Richeson, Zach Richeson, and Allyson Richeson. She is also survived by her two nephews, and one niece: Chad Schmidt, Eric (Dana) Schmidt, and Michelle Pulvermacher.

Friends may call at the Funeral Chapel on Saturday, from noon until service time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the family via Jackie Schmidt, 3241 51st Street, Walker, Iowa 52352 to assist with expenses.
