Obituary for Judith Elliott

Judith Elliott, 73 of Stanhope, died Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Stratford Specialty Care in Stratford.

Following her wishes, Judith has been cremated. Part of the family will have a Celebration of Life at Gutterridge Shelter at McHose Park in Boone from 10 am until 4 pm. There will be a Memorial Service at 10:30 am at Floyd Gutterridge Shelter led by Chaplin Jerry Newswander.

Judith Ann (Hefley) Elliott, was born in Rochester, Minnesota on December 21, 1944, the daughter of Herald and Edna (Doidge) Hefley. She graduated from Perry High School in 1964. Judith married Wesley Iven Elliott in Chillicothe, Missouri on September 28, 1964. To this union one daughter was born, Karen. With this marriage, she raised five children as her own, Peggy, Patricia, Pamela, Gerald and Wesley Jr. The couple divorced on July 3, 1995.

Judith enjoyed showing horses, showing dogs and sewing. She always made time for her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her former husband, Wesley Elliott Sr. and her parents. Judith is survived by daughters, Karen (Doug) Chitty of Boone, Peggy (Phil) Phipps of Stanhope, Pat (Craig) Angstrom of Stratford and Pam (Vern) Millard of Boone; her sons, Gary (Henrietta “Dutch” ) Elliott of Stanhope and Wesley Elliott Jr. (special friend, Amy Pringle) of Stanhope; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
