Obituary for Rosemary Hall

Rosemary Hall, 92, of Boone, died on April 9, 2018 at the Eastern Star Masonic Home.

Rosemary continued her legacy of teaching by gifting her body to the Mayo Foundation in Rochester, Minnesota. A private family service and burial of her cremains will be held at the Bivens Grove Cemetery in Bangor, Iowa at a later date. At her request, there will be no formal services held.

Rose Mary Hall, was born in Clemons, Iowa on October 31, 1925, the daughter of Clinton and Cecile (Andrews) Hall. She graduated from Liberty High School, Iowa State Teachers College and Iowa State University.

Rosemary began her teaching career in Jesup, Iowa on a War Emergency Certificate. She taught and coached in Dayton, Iowa from 1946 to 1956. Moving to Boone in 1956, she taught social studies, driver education and mathematics before retiring in 1984. Rosemary later taught for two years in Mesa, Arizona and substituted in the Boone schools for many years. She loved to teach.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Willard, Francis, Kenneth, Donald and Paul Hall. Rosemary is survived by sisters-in-law, Marilyn, Shirley and Mary and twenty two nieces and nephews and their families. Rosemary is also survived by her adopted family, the children of Bob and Mary Gabrielson, who have been her vacation pals and her joy for sixty years. She was in contact with several former students who have been kind to her, especially, Karen Vogl of Minnesota.

In memory of Rosemary, memorials may be directed to the family and sent to PO Box 41, Pilot Mound, Iowa, 50223 or to the Ericson Public Library.
