Obituary for Lois Titman

Lois Titman, age 88 of rural Boone, died May 4, 2019 at the Eastern Star Masonic Home.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, northeast of Boone. Following a luncheon, burial will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone.

Lois Lorraine (Tingwald) Titman, was born in Boone, Iowa on July 26, 1930, the daughter of Walter and Lorraine (Vogler) Tingwald. She graduated from Boone High School in 1948. On November 20, 1949, Lois married Dale Titman at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boone.

Lois was a devoted wife, helping Dale farm north of Boone and always providing meals for the farm help, complete with dessert. Her life was her family: her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Lois loved attending their activities and always wanted to know what was going on in their lives.

Throughout the years she enjoyed, Sunday night bowling, flower and vegetable gardening and canning her produce. Lois also enjoyed yard work and making the grounds looking nice, cooking and baking, making family favorites of sweet pickles, ham balls, chicken and noodles. She loved making desserts of cookies, pies and homemade ice cream.

Lois was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and was very involved in her Church, such as, the Communion Committee, and Ladies Aide.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Jean Bjustrom, and sister-in-law, Ardith Tingwald.

Lois is survived by her husband, Dale of Boone; a son, Marte Titman and wife, Beth of Boone; a daughter, Vicki Kleinhans and husband, Rick of Naperville, Illinois; a brother, Darrell Tingwald and wife, Joni of Boone; five grandchildren, Ben (Heidi) Kleinhans of Oswego, Illinois, Kylie (Steve) Arndt of Prospect Heights, Illinois, Dane (Sydney) Titman, Ryan (Courtney) Titman, and Ellen Titman all of Boone; six great grandchildren, Drew, Blake, and Trey Kleinhans, Austin Arndt, and Casen and Collins Titman.

Friends may call at the Fellowship Hall of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, on Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m., where the family will be present from 6 until 8 p.m. On Wednesday, friends may call after 9:30 a.m.

In memory of Lois, memorials may be directed to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or the Ronald McDonald House.
