Obituary for Bette Lou McCoy

Bette Lou McCoy, age 88 of Perry and formerly of Beaver, died Friday, November 10, 2017, at the Rowley Memorial Masonic Home in Perry, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 10:30 a.m., at the Community United Methodist Church, 337 SW 2nd Street, Ogden, Iowa. Interment will be in Beaver Cemetery, Beaver, Iowa.

Bette Lou (Cramblet) McCoy was born in Alliance, Nebraska on September 28, 1929, the daughter of George Joshua and Ethel (Smith) Cramblet. Bette married Dale Edward McCoy on October 28, 1946 in Boone, Iowa.

Bette was a homemaker for her family. She also babysat her great-grandchildren and later in life, she worked at Rowley Masonic Community as an activity aid. Bette enjoyed crocheting, crafts with her grandchildren, painting, baking, cooking and going to blue grass festivals and swap meets with her husband, Dale. She was a member of the Beaver United Methodist Church, 4H and the Ogden Saddle Club.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dale on January 27, 1999; her parents; a daughter-in-law, Vicki McCoy; a granddaughter, Chantyl McCoy; three sisters and two brothers. Bette is survived by her six children, Dianna (Deke) Becker of Grain Valley, Missouri, Mike (Linda) McCoy of Boone, Pat (Ken) Elsberry of Beaver, Iowa, Barb (Mark) Appenzeller of Boone, Cindy (Tom) Friess of Jefferson and Tim (Janice) McCoy of Perry, Iowa; twelve grandchildren, Tammy (Ken) Cook, Terisa (Jim) Marlow, Shelly (Lance) Kookier, Shawn (Bri) McCoy, Bobby (Emilie) McCoy, Tina (Brad) Snider, Tracy (Gary) Iles, Josh (Reesha) Stark, Amy (Scott) Perkins, Jake McCoy, Justin (Holly) Appenzeller and Jerrod (Chelsea) Appenzeller; twenty eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Monday, November 13, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Community United Methodist Church, 337 SW 2nd Street, Ogden, Iowa.

In memory of Bette, memorials may be directed to the family and given in her memory to the Shriner Hospital and The Rowley Masonic Home.
