Obituary for Richard "Rick" Dean Raulston

Richard ‘Rick’ Raulston, age 65 of Boone, died at his home on February 24, 2018.

Rick has been cremated and there will be no visitation or formal services held.

Richard Dean Raulston, was born in Boone, Iowa on December 18, 1952, the son of George and Delores (Carlson) Raulston. He graduated from Boone High School in 1971 and received his Bachelor’s Degree and his Master’s Degree in Psychology from Iowa State University. Rick worked as a clinical psychologist and a substance abuse counselor for Employee and Family Resource--5th Judicial District, in Polk County. He retired in June of 2017. In earlier years, Rick trained and showed quarter horses. He loved playing softball on local slow pitch teams and enjoyed scuba diving at various island locations. Rick was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Jason.

Rick is survived by a brother, Randy Raulston and wife Roxy of Boone; two sisters, Rachelle Murphy and husband Mike of Buckeye, Arizona and Ruth Ann Raulston of Boone; a nephew and niece, Garrett Raulston and Micha Olson-Michel; great nieces and great nephew, Jada and Jessilee and Aaron; his step mother, Irene Cantu Raulston of Texas; step brother and step sisters, Richard Longoria and wife Rosy, Cynthia Longoria and Estela Longoria-Rodriquez and husband Frank all of Texas.
